How to install third party apps on NOOK Tablet

NOOK Tablet allow users to access apps on their own app store: B&N. However, there are no many apps in this market and most of them are paid apps. So how to install third party apps, maybe from  Google Android Market, on NOOK Tablet? GMech teach you a solution without need of Root access on NOOK.

Allow unknown sources

Android users should know it the “Unknown sources” setting. Check “Setting->applications->unknown sources” and then you will be allowed to install apk app from SD card.

But this setting in NOOK Tablet have been hidden ( While Amazon Kindle Fire allow users to change this option). You need to do something to make is selectable.

  2. Click Download AppMenu (Looking for TGPS_Launcher? Use this instead.)
  3. Wait until the apk downloading finished
  4. check ” unknown sources”

    Barnes & Noble rolled out version 1.4.1 of its software for the NOOK Tablet and suddenly it got harder to sideload apps that didn’t come from the B&N shop.
    But Xda-developers forum member Indirect noticed that you can still use the Android Debug Bridge (adb) utility to push apps from a computer to your tablet.

    Hi there im new to rooting nooks and sideloading but i tried to download appmenu and when it finished intstalling i opened it but all i got was a application settings button in the top left hand corner and when i try to press it all it does is close the window ive never seen these options they dont show up just the one button PLEASE HELP MEEEE thanks
